Inclusive Excellence Support and Engagement

The mission of Inclusive Excellence, Support and Engagement is to provide resources and opportunities for academic, social, and emotional growth. This department is engaged in activities designed to help create a more inclusively diverse community of learners at OSU. We aspire to work with all individuals interested in promoting this work. 
The following programs and office is housed within this Department:
  • Retention Initiative for Student Excellence (RISE) Program

  • Inclusion Leadership Program (ILP)

  • Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA)

TRIO and Sponsored Research Programs

TRIO programs are funded by grants from the Department of Education. They were initiated in response to President Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty.” TRIO Programs began in 1964 with the creation of three initial programs, they became known as the federal TRIO Programs. Since that time, more programs have been added, but the name remains the same.
  • Upward Bound (UB)

  • Student Support Services (SSS)

  • McNair Scholars Program

  • Talent Search (TS)

OK-LSAMP

A consortium of Oklahoma colleges and universities working together to develop programs aimed at increasing the number of students from under-represented populations who receive degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. 
Current goals and activities focus on:
  • Undergraduate research experiences

  • Graduate school preparation

  • International Experiences
