We proudly host several outreach and comprehensive support services program to assist first-generation, low-income, or otherwise underrepresented students in higher education, including students with disabilities.

TRIO and Sponsored Research Programs

Upward Bound (UB)

Upward Bound is a college preparatory program designed to provide academic skills and motivation for students who are interested in pursuing an educational program beyond high school.

Student Support Services (SSS)

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program that allows selected educational institutions or agencies to provide fundamental support to students at the college level.

McNair Scholars Program

The McNair Scholars program is a federally funded TRIO Program that provides encouragement, guidance, and mentorship to underrepresented students in preparation for graduate school. 

Orange Strides: A TRIO Talent Search Project

Orange Strides: A TRIO Talent Search Project (formerly Talent Search) is a college and career preparatory program designed to provide academic skills and motivation for students who are interested in pursuing an educational program beyond high school.

OK-LSAMP

The OK-LSAMP initiative supports historically underrepresented students in STEM. This program is limited to a select and highly committed group of students with a declared major in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and the pre-health professions.

OSU Center for Health Sciences received three 2023 Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine for Operation Orange, Native Pathways and Native Explorers.

OSU medical student Emily Sowah was one of only 15 medical students from across the country selected for the 2023 ElevateMeD Scholarship Program, which aims to develop talented medical students from underrepresented backgrounds into the next generation of physician leaders.
