Campus Support Services

 

The Office of Multicultural Affairs partners with University Counseling Services to provide services for students representing diverse identities. The services are free and open to all students.

 

The counseling staff provides students with non-clinical individualized counseling services and non-therapy groups. All groups and individual sessions are designed to be safe spaces for students to have open dialogue. 

 

Drop-In Hours

Students identifying as Black, Indigenous or people of color (BIPOC) can schedule a 30-minute session to discuss any desired topic or learn more about counseling. Please email Brandie Chandler, LMSW for additional information. The fall 2020 virtual drop-in hours are listed below:

  • Mondays- 2:30p-3:30p
  • Tuesdays- 9:00a-10:00a
  • Wednesdays- 10:30a-11:30a
  • Thursdays- 1:00p-2:00p

Friends Like Me

Friends Like Me is a support group for LGBTQ+ students. The group will meet weekly beginning October 7, 2020 for the fall semester at 6p. Meetings will be held virtually. Please contact Marcella Beaumont or Weston Durham for more information. 

 

Trans Support Group

The Trans Support Group is a non-clinical, non-therapy group for trans students to connect and discuss relevant topics in a safe space. The group will meet weekly beginning October 7, 2020 for the fall 2020 semester at 4p. Meetings will be held virtually. For more information contact Nikkie Dunnigan or Audrey Scaer

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) is a nonprofit and nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization, providing leadership development programs and educational services to students and young emerging Latino leaders.

Unidos US

Unidos US serves the Hispanic community forums in research, policy analysis and in community, state and national programs.

Latino Community Development Agency

The mission is to improve the quality of life in the Latino community through education, leadership, services and advocacy.

Hispanic American Foundation 

The Foundation is dedicated to the preservation, appreciation, and promotion of Hispanic culture through scholarships, grants, and the presentation of cultural programs.
